United Kingdom Giant Supermarket, Iceland keeps selling its own products containing of palm oil though it promised to stop using palm oil in the end of 2018.
In the previous, in April 2018 the supermarket claimed that palm oil demands destroyed the rain forests in Asia. But the facts showed that Iceland still sells 28 kinds of its products having palm oil or fat, and more than 600 kinds of products within different brands.
Iceland, as quoted from BBC.com, claimed that the supermarket ‘fulfilled’ its promise and not make its own products within palm oil. Iceland also mentioned that its own products in the groceries are the old stocks, including the frozen supper and pastry products which ‘clearly have longer storability rather than it of other fresh products’.
But what BBC.com traced revealed that the unfrozen storability products, such as, cake, peri, hot bread, and jam – were made of palm oil and the products are online to sell. One product within its own loggo claimed that it is ‘new’.
Iceland also claimed that if kinds of fresh food in the website of the company having ‘palm oil’ are renewal issues of the web and its team should solve fast.
