To increase the crude palm oil (CPO) absorption in the domestic, the researcher of Badan Pengkajian and Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT), Agus Kismanto suggested that the government could trace the bioethanol biodiesel barter program with Brazil which may be potential up to 3,3 million kiloliters.
Besides, the MFO (marine fuel oil) substitution with CPO that PT. PLN runs could be reaching 0,9 million kilolitersand should be done too. “The other chance to do is by substituting diesel powerplants in HSD – base with CPO or cooking oil. It may reach 2,9 million kiloliters,” Agus said in Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in Jakarta, Wednesday (5/12/2018).
The other is that the government should accelerate the B20 program to be B30. “At least, the B30 could be realized in the midst of next year to accelerate the absorption and make the CPO more expensive,” he said.
Meanwhile the member of XI Commission, Indonesian Legislators, Jhony G Plate said that the governmental instances need to let away the sectoral ego to make the CPO more expensive again. “Indonesia is a big country but the issue is that every instance works alone and very sectoral. This makes us small and influences our leverage even smaller,” he said.
